ANNABELLE COMES HOME: IS IT WORTH
TO WATCH? AN OVERVIEW
Annabelle comes home is the third
installment in Annabelle series and seventh installment in the conjuring universe.
It came to theaters on 28th June 2019 and received mixed reviews. Critics
rated it as an average movie from the conjuring universe. The movie has got a good
box office collection. It collected around 220 million dollars around a budget
of 32 million. Current IMDb rating is 6.2. Rotten tomatoes gave a rating of 66%
and book my show rating is 63%. It’s digital release was on last week. Now some
of us are confused that the movie is good to watch or not. So let’s have a
quick view around it and decide whether it is worth to watch or not.
So WHAT IS ANNABELLE 3 ALL ABOUT?
As
the name suggests (Annabelle comes home) it’s about the events happening after
bringing the Annabelle doll to Warren’s family. We all know Annabelle stories
are happened before conjuring. This events of this movie is happening 4 years
later the Annabelle doll came to their house. Annabelle doll is placed in a
sealed chamber inside warrens collection room of possessed objects. It is said
that this doll is a beacon for other spirits. Warren’s daughter Judy is
introvert in nature and it’s her birthday this weekend. Marry Ellen, main character
played by Madison iseman, have to babysit Judy for a night while warrens go for
another case. Danielle, played by Katie sarife, is Ellen’s friend, joins them for
the advance birthday celebration. But Danielle has a secret agenda for her
arrival. Which makes the night mysterious and terrific.
Madison
iseman and Katie sarife plays their role very well, also McKenna grace is
amazing as Judy. Gary dauberman, The writer of Annabelle 1, Annabelle creation,
The nun, is also the writer and director of this film. It’s his directorial debut.
He was a co-writer with James wan.
IS ANNABELLE 3 DIFFERENT FROM
OTHER ANNABELLE MOVIES?
It
is not an entirely different one but unique in its own way. It is mainly based
on three characters Judy, Marry Ellen and Danielle. The story is about the
events happening in a single day, which is a major difference. And in this
movie, the story of Annabelle is not talked very much. It shows how powerful
the Annabelle doll when it comes out. The first part of the movie was about
mysterious events caused by the doll in a family, the second was about the
origin and now the third shows how powerful it is. The movie follows the usual
methods of a horror movie. Lights going out, silence, jump scares etc. also
there. But the making is good so it doesn’t affect the appreciation.
INTERESTING THINGS TO WATCH
This
movie talks about some other cases investigated by warrens. Like the bride’s dress, hell hound etc. and some characters are also introduced in the movie too. It is
interesting and thrilling to watch. Even there are some cliché scenes there are
interesting horror scenes too. Rather than horrifying us minute by minute it
follows a horror mood which is more thrilling and interesting compared to the
jump scares. The performance of all the actors were awesome. Their performance
was one of the interesting things in the movie.
WHO ALL CAN WATCH THIS: GOOD AND
BAD IN THE MOVIE
This
movie is for all the conjuring series fans. Also for those who loves horror
thriller movies. Annabelle 3 doesn’t have much frightening scenes. So those who
watch only for high voltage horror scenes may get disappointed. It doesn’t have
strong ,twisty ,heart melting story. It’s all about some horror events
happening in their home and about how it happened. So don’t expect a big story.
But nice to watch.
In
short it is a good movie if you approach with less expectation. Don’t expect
the level of conjuring 1 or 2. Among the Annabelle movie part 2 is the best.
Then comes this. So it is better than Annabelle 1 not up to 2, but not bad. It
is better than the last two installments in conjuring universe, the nun and the
curse of weeping women. And those who loves horror mood rather than horrifying scenes
can also choose this one.
So in our opinion it is worth to
watch and we are giving a rating of 7.5 out of 10 for this movie.
