La Mante is a French thriller series released on Netflix. It was released in Netflix France on October 13, 2017.The show was directed by Alexandre Laurent. The cast includes Carole Bouquet as Jeanne Deber / The Mantis,Jaques Weber as Charles Carrot, Fred Testot as Damien Carrot, Robinson Stevenin as Alex Crozet, Elodie Navarre as Szofia Kovacs, Fredérique Bel as Virginie Delorme. It is a murder mystery type miniseries which tells about the police investigation to trap a serial killer whose murders were exact copycat of another killings happened 25 years ago. The show has six episodes totally, with duration ranges between 50 to 65 minutes.

Paris is under the threat of a
psycho serial killer who is inspired by the Mantis murders, happened 25 years ago.
The killer exactly copycats the murders and leaves police in confusion. Jeanne Deber
or the mantis killer, who is now imprisoned, agrees to help the police with the
investigation under one condition. Her son Damien is working in the police
department and she wanted him in the investigation. The case becomes even more
complicated when Damian joins the team. It brings Damien to the unknown truths
about his past and secrets about his mother. So who was the killer? How did
Mantis help the police? What was her past? What were the secrets that Damien

It never disappoints those who expected an engaging thriller. The investigation
sequences, the suspense etc. were completely wrapped up in a thriller format.
It is an interesting thriller with some seat edge thrilling moments.
It is a fast paced show and has
only six episodes. There are not much unwanted scenes or lags, which is the
main advantage. It is a series which can be binge watch.
The direction and background music
are the other remarkable factors to be mentioned. An overall thriller mood is
maintained throughout the show. The direction and background music helped much
in that duty.

both. Even though some are predictable it offers a good experience to the

Cliché script and events are the
main drawback of the series. It brings predictability to some extends and thus
kills the viewer’s interest. It has twists, thrills etc. but failed to present
a fresh unpredictable story. Some twists were good but basically the main
factors are predictable. Also it had lots of logical mistakes and unexplained events.
These also make the viewer a bit disappoint.

Overall it is a good engaging
thriller. Even though it has a cliché and predictable story it is a good thriller
to binge watch. It offers a good thrilling experience if the story and logic
are left behind.
